What is 316L Stainless Steel?
- 316L Stainless Steel is a stainless steel alloy which provides high strength, resistance to high temperatures, is non-magentic, and has excellent corrosion and staining resistance. This makes the material great for jewellery intended for everyday use due to the minimal maintenance the material requires.
How is 316L Stainless Steel made?
- 316L Stainless Steel is an alloy that consists of (69%) Iron, (18%) Chromium, (10%) Nickel, (2-3%) Molybdenum and (0.03%) Carbon. The components are combined using heat treatment at a very high temperature and quenching, which results in the metal having a crystalline structure.
How do I clean 316L Stainless Steel?
- Due to the high water and heat resistance of the material it is completely safe to wash the piece with hot water and soap, make sure the piece is rinsed properly after to avoid any marks. Additionally, we recommend using a micro-fibre cloth to keep your piece looking clean and like new!
