Common questions
How does the engraving work?
Type your text on the product page before you add to basket, and pick the font you want. It is laser engraved in house before we dispatch it, and the cost is added on the product page as you set it up.
How many characters can I have?
It depends on the piece, and the limit shows on the product page as you type. Signet rings take around 10, pendants and dog tags around 25, and plain bands and bracelets up to 40.
Can I have both sides engraved?
On some pieces. The dog tags, cross pendants and adjustable bangles have the room for it. Everything else takes one side only, and the product page tells you which you are looking at.
Can I return or exchange a personalised item?
Neither, unfortunately. Personalised pieces sit outside the 30 day returns and exchanges policy because they cannot be resold. Check the spelling and the size carefully before you order.
What size do I need?
Rings run US 6 to US 13, bracelets 18.5cm to 23cm. Get this right first time, since a personalised piece cannot be returned or exchanged. Wrist guide here.
Can it go in the shower?
Depends on the piece. Steel and tungsten are fine. Anything with leather or cord should come off first, since water dries the leather out and weakens cord. Engraving itself is cut into the metal, so it does not wear off.
Will it turn my skin green?
No. Green marks come from copper, and the 316L stainless steel, tungsten and titanium here contain none. The leather and beaded pieces use 316L clasps, and the one sterling silver band is rhodium plated. More on why cheap jewellery stains here.
Can I ask for a custom or specific layout?
Send us the details and we will tell you straight whether we can do it. Spacing, a symbol, a date format, a font you cannot see listed, or wording that runs past the character limit. Some of it the laser will take and some it will not, and it is better to know before you order than after.
