A men's silver dog tag necklace that won't turn your skin green. It's 316L stainless steel, hypoallergenic and waterproof, so it stays on in the shower and at the gym. It won't rust or fade. The tag is 33mm by 22mm in brushed and polished steel, with a dark bar and rivets, on a 50cm rope chain, 2mm wide, with a lobster clasp.
The silver version also comes in black and in 18K gold plating. Dog tags were first worn by soldiers as ID tags.
We engrave the front, the back or both. Each side holds up to 40 characters over two lines, running down the tag, enough for a name and a date, so it works as a personalised dog tag. £10 for one side, £20 for both. Engraved pieces can't be returned.

The chain is one length, 50cm (about 20 inches), and on most men it sits around the collarbone.

The metal
316L is a stainless steel alloy. It's strong, non-magnetic and handles high temperatures, and it resists corrosion and staining. It needs little looking after, so it suits jewellery you wear every day.
Made from
69% iron, 18% chromium, 10% nickel, 2-3% molybdenum and 0.03% carbon. The maker heats the metals to a very high temperature and quenches them, which gives the steel its crystalline structure.
Cleaning
Wash it in hot, soapy water and rinse it well so it doesn't mark. Wipe it with a microfibre cloth to keep it looking new.
