A men's black onyx pendant necklace in a silver steel setting that won't turn your skin green. An emerald-shaped black onyx stone is held in a four-prong setting of polished 316L stainless steel, 20mm by 10mm. It's hypoallergenic and waterproof, so it stays on in the shower and at the gym, and it won't rust or fade. It hangs on a 60cm rope chain, 2mm wide, with a lobster clasp.
The stone is tall and narrow, so it works on its own or layered with a second chain. The silver version also comes in gold. Onyx is traditionally linked with strength and protection.
We engrave the back of the pendant with up to 40 characters over two lines. Pick a font and add a symbol if you like. £10. Engraved pieces can't be returned.

The metal
316L is a stainless steel alloy. It's strong, non-magnetic and handles high temperatures, and it resists corrosion and staining. It needs little looking after, so it suits jewellery you wear every day.
Made from
69% iron, 18% chromium, 10% nickel, 2-3% molybdenum and 0.03% carbon. The maker heats the metals to a very high temperature and quenches them, which gives the steel its crystalline structure.
Cleaning
Wash it in hot, soapy water and rinse it well so it doesn't mark. Wipe it with a microfibre cloth to keep it looking new.
